The Act no. 348/2015 Z. z. (implemented Regulation no. 517/2014) and Decree no. 314/2009 is focused on fluorinated greenhouse gases placed on the market in Slovak Republic.

Producer, importer, exporter or distributor of fluorinated greenhouse gases or other fluorinated greenhouse gases are obliged to provide data to Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic of data on fluorinated greenhouse gases or other fluorinated greenhouse gases listed in a special regulation each year to 31 January of the following year (§ 5 sec. 5 of Act no. 348/2015 Coll.).

Producer/importer/exporter or distributor of articles or equipments containing fluorinated greenhouse gases is obliged to provide data on articles or equipments each year to 31 January of the following year by e-mail to Notified Body for Cooling and Air Conditioning Technology. Individual entrepreneur or legal entity is required to hold a certificate of competence for handling with fluorinated greenhouse gases and placed it on the market in the Slovak Republic (Decree no. 314/2009 Coll.).

Requirements to obtain Certificate of competence for handling with fluorinated greenhouse gases:

  • Employ individuals who hold a certificate of expertise or corresponding certificate issued in another EU Member State or a State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area,
  • Declare and you can prove that you can use the tools and equipment needed to carry out activities,
  • Declare and you can prove that you have and archive documents for operations to monitor of leaks in electronic form, and submit a report on the movement of fluorinated greenhouse gases and controlled substances in the previous year to the competent government authority.

The period of validity of the certificate of expertise for individuals is 5 years and the period of validity of the certificate of competence for individual or legal entity is 1 year.

The application for verification of competence for handling with fluorinated greenhouse gases to obtain a certificate of expertise given individual in writing or electronically at: http://www.szchkt.org/a/ziadosti/main.

Required information when applying for a certificate of expertise:

  • A copy of a document proving the required qualifications,
  • Proof or affidavit on the length of professional experience,
  • Copy of the authorization or mandate in accordance with good engineering practice (min. § 21 of Decree no. 508/2009 Coll.), soldering EN 13133.

Content of the application for a certificate of competence - legal entity:

  • Business name and address, legal form and identification number (if assigned)
  • A list of individuals employed by a legal person holding a certificate of expertise to carry out the relevant activities,
  • A statement that an entity's own tools and equipment needed to carry out activities,
  • A statement of guidance documentation for operations to check for leaks in electronic form,
  • Reporting on the movement of fluorinated greenhouse gases and controlled substances for the previous year (§6 sec.10 of Act no. 348/2015 Coll.).
